Scraplifting Kelly

Hi everybody! I'm here today sharing my layout for Scraplift Sunday. I am always a little intimidated by scraplifting. I feel like I'm not going to do the original layout justice, especially when said layout is as gorgeous as this one by Kelly:

I really loved the way Kelly set her layout on a diagonal, so I followed suit.

I could not wait to tear into the Cake Smash collection by Fancy Pants. The bright, happy colors and patterns just called to me. I didn't have any birthday photos handy to scrap with this collection, so I decided to declare it appropriate to scrap Fourth of July photos with it. LOL!

Open Up

Hi everybody. I'm stopping by to share my layout for the Open Up challenge. This one was perfect for me. I have been hoarding some patterned paper for quite a while. It's just so pretty that I couldn't bear to cut into it. This challenge made me take the dive!

This Over the Hedge paper is just too cute for words. I decided to cut it into strips so that I could use as little as possible. This makes sense, apparently, because now I can save the rest of it forever and stare at it longingly. LOL! I also did some hand stitching on this layout. By the time I finished cutting fringes and stitching, I decided that the layout would get to busy if I added much more in terms of embellishments, so I settled for some paint splatters and a couple of buttons.

I hope you'll play along with this challenge! Don't forget to join in the fun in the Paper Issues Facebook group! And, of course, when you're shopping in the store, don't forget to use my discount code for 20% off!
