Sketchy Scrapping

Hi everybody! I'm just stopping by today to share my take on this month's sketch. If you know me at all, you know that I'm always a little intimidated by sketches. I always wind up straying pretty far from the actual sketch, but I've decided to embrace that and assume it's ok. LOL! Here's the sketch:

I absolutely love this sketch. The stars provided perfect inspiration. Here's what I came up with:

I played around with the idea of painting the stars or cutting them out of paper, but I decided I'd stitch them instead. Hand stitching is my jam.

I used the last little bit of the Document life collection by Pretty Little Studio that I had left. It's one of my favorites of all time.

I hope you'll play along with this challenge! Don't forget to join in the fun in the Paper Issues Facebook group! And, of course, when you're shopping in the store, don't forget to use my discount code for 20% off!

Heavy Metal

Hi everybody. I'm just stopping by to share my layout for the Heavy Metal challenge. For this challenge, we were supposed to either scrap a concert experience or use some sort of metal element on our layout. Since I'm very boring and don't go to concerts, I chose to use a metal element on my layout.

For this layout, I used mostly the Document Life collection from Pretty Little Studio. It's one of my favorite collections of all time. I think the only one I love more is the Color Me Happy collection (also in the shop) that PLS released recently.

For my title, I used these black letters by Heidi Swapp and some thickers by American Crafts. The buttons and twine are from my stash.

I hope you'll play along with this challenge! Don't forget to join in the fun in the Paper Issues Facebook group! And, of course, when you're shopping in the store, don't forget to use my discount code for 20% off!
