Hi again! I am on a roll with these posts lately! Two whole posts in two days. The world might just come to an end any minute.... ;)
I discovered a new-to-me site called The Memory Nest. They have a great sketch challenge going right now so I thought I'd give it a try. Here's my take:
I love this photo of my little guy. It was taken quite a long time ago. He is a big gigantic eleven year old with a girlfriend now. No idea how time could possibly fly so fast! I have been digging through the many drawers in my scraproom and finding all kinds of goodies. This picture was there, and I found these papers that I always loved. I only had scraps left, but there was plenty for this layout. I believe the star paper is Lime Twist by MME and I'm not certain about the polka dot paper. The die cut paper is Studio Callico, I think. The star is by PLS and the ribbon is cheap stuff from Wal Mart. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Pretty Little Studio Sketch Layout
Hi everyone. I have a layout up on the PLS blog today. We were asked to work with this sketch:
I loved the vertical lines, and definitely wanted to keep those in play. I am actually notorious for straying from the sketch. I'm always thinking "Will it offend the sketch designer if I leave this out? What if they look at this and get grumpy because I butchered their beautiful sketch? Will the world stop turning if I change this or that?" For now I am going to assume that there is no band of disgruntled sketch designers stalking me with their crafty scissors raised. Hopefully....
Anyway, having said all that I am proud yo report that I stuck relatively close to the sketch on this one. Here's my layout:
Hopefully this will redeem me in the eyes of those sketch designers. ;) Thanks for stopping by! And don't forget to visit the PLS blog to check out the other takes on the sketch.

Creative Scrappers Sketch 260
Hi everyone! I decided to try playing along at Creative Scrappers. I loved sketch number 260. The triangles are a really cool element. Here's my take on it:
A while back, I created this layout:
It turned out to be one of my favorites. I used ribbon from Wal Mart behind the cutouts. I have been looking for an excuse to do that again, sooooo.....
I scrap lifted myself for the Creative Scrappers layout. I love the bright, happy colors of the ribbon against the black and white photo of my sweet little guy. It doesn't hurt that he is totally adorable either. ;). Thanks for stopping by!

And She Was Happy...
Hi folks. Just stopping by to share a new PLS layout.
I had so much fun with this layout! I used a truckload of PLS journaling cards around the edges. I just staggered them around the edges and distressed them a bit with some white paint. I doodled the tree and added in some quotes from one of our favorite books, "The Giving Tree". I have read this book to my little Caleb since he wax tiny and it never fails to make me sniffle. The title is taken from the book as well.
